Hello Marion,

I hope you are well. I'm an Ivybridge resident and I visited the Langdale Centre today (July 1st) to report some problems with the standard of cleaning and general repair of communal areas in my block on Ivybridge. The block concerned is 112-122 at the Tesco end. I'm also newly appointed block representative for the Ivybridge URA so I am writing on behalf of the entire block with whom I have good relations.

The primary problem is that the communal areas of the block are ...

Hi All,

I can't help but notice that contact details for the URA include only telephone numbers and a postal address. Is there an email address that people could contact you on? This is a far more convenient mode of communication for most (including the residents in my block who I've spoken to). It also means they can contact you 24 hrs 7 days a week rather than worrying about phoning at a convenient time. Of course, responses wouldn't be expected 24 hrs a day!

I also think it's strange ...

Hounslow homes alarm system in place for those stuck in a broken down lift - again left someone stuck for over an hour.

The system in place which alerts first the HH's call centre who then informs the lift engineers is obviously not working. It took the lift engineers 1.1/2 hours to get to the site.

If it had not been for someone calling the fire brigade who was there in 10mins the chap concerned could have been there for another 1/2 hour.

Many elderly residents in the block are now afraid ...

Hello All,

I very recently moved into the estate and just came across this forum today. I think it's a great idea to share news and ideas but it seems to me to be horribly under-used. I was wondering how this forum, and website, is publicised. Would it be an idea to put up posters about it around the estate? I knew nothing about it and came accross this site by chance; I think it's a terrible shame that more people aren't contributing. Any ideas?

Hi again,
Would anyone be interested in organising a litter-picking group? Possibly once a week. There must be enough people to just fill a few bags every weekend. It would be so easy to do but would make such a big difference...

Paul Fisher, Caroline Andrews and I spent an unlikely Friday evening playing bingo at the Bridgelink a few days back. Although Caz and I were sadly unsuccessful, Councillor Fisher is now the proud owner of a bottle of bubble bath which he is free to collect from my car when next when we meet.

The event was superbly facilitated by Chris Boucher who, if it is true he is destined never to be a councillor ( ), has at least found an alternative vocation and a glittering career at Gala beckons.

Last night I had the privilege of addressing nearly forty residents at the first Open Meeting of the United Residents' Association of Ivybridge, alongside PC Chris McLean and Fiona King of Hounslow Homes.

What is clear is that the residents of Ivybridge are pulling together and are speaking increasingly as one after years of debilitating division and disagreement.

Vice Chair Al Ayoby summed up the new approach beautifully when he spoke of the need for residents to come together and ...

Residents of Ivybridge

I am a reporter for the Brentford Chiswick and Isleworth Times. If there are any stories in your community that you would like to bring to my attention please phone me on 0208 744 4273.

This could be anything from news to events or just something you might want me to investigate.

Recently I heard a rumour that some bizarre objects had been found on the estate. The items included a sword, a gun and an organ (possibly from an animal). I am waiting for a response ...
