Hi again,

Would anyone be interested in organising a litter-picking group? Possibly once a week. There must be enough people to just fill a few bags every weekend. It would be so easy to do but would make such a big difference...

Yet another Great Idea. We will include this suggestion in the next Newsletter.
I would be willing to join in with this and i am sure when not busy, one or two of our local ward councillors would be willing to come along and give a hand, if only for the publicity.
OK Cllrs Andrews and Fisher.

Well, I was hoping people might want to be involved due to the benefits and community spirit rather than the publicity! Whatever it takes to get things done...

Sorry JB - that was a joke on my part of which I trust our ward councillors would understand. I am sure any involvement by them would be to benefit of the community, not as a publicity stunt as others have done on this estate in the past.

Absolutely. We have a similar project taking place on the Worton estate very shortly and I'd be happy to raise the question of rolling it out on the Ivybridge afterwards with the very proactive SNT and community payback teams who are involved. As well as making the estate a cleaner and nicer place in which to live, it would also help to raise the profile of the TA as a result of the coverage which would follow. That's why the publicity is important, but certainly not the main objective as JB rightly states.

Morning,

Apologies for my ignorance but I only just moved here- what are the SNT and TA? As for publicity, I think it should be publicised primarily amongst the people who live on the estate so they can help. It doesn't matter to me who else knows about it as long as the clean up gets done although recognition is always nice. And does it need to be so complicated? Would I be stopped if, for example, I decided to go around picking up litter with my flatmates every weekend? That's more what I had in mind and if others decide to join in then they can...

No, but you'd probably be certified. Wink
