Last night I had the privilege of addressing nearly forty residents at the first Open Meeting of the United Residents' Association of Ivybridge, alongside PC Chris McLean and Fiona King of Hounslow Homes.

What is clear is that the residents of Ivybridge are pulling together and are speaking increasingly as one after years of debilitating division and disagreement.

Vice Chair Al Ayoby summed up the new approach beautifully when he spoke of the need for residents to come together and to consign all the old animosities firmly to the past where they belong.

Well done Tina, Al, Tony, George and all for organising such a fantastic and morale-boosting event.
